Coins of England & the United Kingdom needs little introduction to most of you; it has been a staple of the numismatist’s bookshelf for some years. For those who don’t know the book (or rather, books these days), it is a comprehensive catalogue of all English (and later British) coins. Whilst Token Publishing’s COIN YEARBOOK is a price guide, designed as a basic tool to give you a quick overview of what something may be worth, Coins of England is a full-on catalogue with every die variety and type of every coin listed and valued. Originally published by Seaby, then by Spink, it is now produced by Sovereign Rarities (rather usefully, all begin with the same initial letter, meaning the auction catalogues can keep using the “S” numbers in their descriptions!) and the 2026 edition will be available soon. Once again, the catalogue comes in two hardback volumes, the pre-decimal edition which retails at £35 and one covering all decimal coins which sells for £25.
