This new book by Simon Eyre deals with, as you might expect, the St John Ambulance Brigade during the South African War 1899-1902. It's a hard back 200+ page book taking an in-depth look at the role of the St John Ambulance Brigade during the Second Boer War and contains a huge amount of information on who served where (whether on hospital ships, hospital trains, stationary hospitals, temporary hospitals, private hospitals, etc.), who received what awards (there are a variety of different rolls included) and what exactly the role of the Brigade, and those associated with it, was. It’s an essential read for anyone interested in medical services, the Boer War or St John Ambulance Brigade.
