A TOKEN TITLE This was the second title from the author of HONOUR THE AIRFORCES and is an essential work which looks at the honours and awards given to the British and Dominion Armies in WWII . This incredible book lists, for the first time, the names of over 60,000 recipients of gallantry and distinguished service awards (from the Orders of Chivalry through the VC to the King's commendation for bravery but excluding MIDs) made during the Second World War to members of the British and Dominion Armies (Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Indian, South African, Burmese and a host of miscellaneous forces), together with their service number, rank, honours awarded, London Gazette reference and the theatre of operations for which the award was made. The book also gives a number of important tables showing the distribution of awards between the various armies and regiments therein, this is further broken down to show which armies were awarded which decorations in which theatre. Much of this statistical information has never been published before. This hard cased A4 publication is a fascinating book and is essential for anyone interested in the Second World War. It is a must have reference work for any collector specialising in Gallantry awards. Published 2006; Author Michael Maton; 788 pp. ISBN: 978 1870192 743 We have a few copies of this title with minor damage to the corners/dust jacket etc. All pages are intact, binding is fine. All damage is cosmetic and usually comes about through taking the books to fairs etc. where they get dropped, get moved from box to box etc. None of it is serious but we still cannot sell them as new - so we're selling them more cheaply! But hurry, stocks are very limited (we don't damage that many books!) and once they're gone they're gone!
