The Special Air Service - SAS - was born in the Western Desert of North Africa in 1941 growing from a small detachment of around 60 men to a full Regiment and finally a brigade. At the end of World War II the original unit, along with the Special Boat Service - SBS - was disbanded before a history of their exploits could be recorded. Remaining records went missing and it is only recently that many have come to light. This volume is a detailed account of Gallantry awards to the British SAS and attached SBS units 1941-1946 and is the result of countless hours of research on the part of the author. Those Who Dared features previously unpublished information and is the ONLY COMPILATION OF ITS KIND - essential reading for medal collector and military enthusiast alike.
