The family of the last Soldier to be killed by the IRA during the Troubles in Northern Ireland have been awarded the Elizabeth Cross.
Lance Bombardier Stephen Restorick was killed by an IRA sniper at a checkpoint in Bessbrook, Co Armagh, on February 12, 1997 and in recognition of that sacrifice his parents Rita and John Restorick, from Underwood in Nottinghamshire, were presented with the medal at Nottingham's County Hall.
