We knew that there might be one coming but apparently two George Crosses are to be awarded for Gallantry in Afghanistan - both to bomb disposal experts. A Postumous award goes, as expected, to Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid who was killed in October 2009 whilst the other award is being made to Staff Sergenat Hughes for his work in enabling a minefield rescue
