A "bomb sniffer" dog working in Afghanistan is to be honoured with the "animals" VC - the Dickin Medal.
Princess Alexandra will award black Labrador Treo the Dickin Medal at the Imperial War Museum,making him the 63rd animal to have won the award since its institution in 1943 and thr 26th canine recipient. The last, Sadie, also a black Labrador, was also awarded the medal for work in Afghanistan back in 2005.
