The first UK coin designed by a child (no quips about previous designs thank you) has been unveiled by the Royal Mint. The coin - the first in a series of 29 50pence pieces designed to represent a different Olympic or Paralympic sport in the run up to the London Olympics in 2012 was designed by nine year old Florence Jackson of Bristol (who chose the theme of teh high jump) following an open competition on the BBCs "Blue Peter" television show.
