Soldiers Records go on line
Posted on Fri, 23 February 2007 by Phil Mussell - General News, Medal News
The National Archives (formerly the PRO) has put the service records of WWI soldiers on-line for the first time. Not all soldiers records are available (around 60% were lost when the original records office was bombed in WWII) but there are still hundreds of thousands that can be viewed. At this stage only servicemen with surnames starting A and B can bee seen but the remainder will be available in time. For more information visit - http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
