The Treasury recently announced the plans for the UK's Circulating coins in 2007 - it seems that we are to have a £2 coin to mark the 300th anniversary of the act of Union between England and Scotland; a £5 Crown to celebrate the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip; a £2 coin to mark 200 years since the abolition of the slave trade and a 50pence to commemorate the centenary of the Scout movement. More details, designs etc as we get them!
2008 will, of course, see the release of teh redesigned coinage - designs for which are currently being considered
