In the midst of the very sad news about Her Majesty's passing came the announcement that the Royal Mint is to launch a brand new series of coins featuring boy wizard Harry Potter to celebrate the 25th publishing anniversary of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone’ in the UK.
Struck in both precious and base metal and in a variety of denominations, including the 50p, the new collection will comprise four designs in total. The first coins feature Harry himself with subsequent coins showing The Hogwarts Express, Albus Dumbledore, and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
With the death of Her Majesty it is understood that the release of these coins has been delayed but we aren't sure what time frame will be, we'll let you more as soon as we get the information
