New £50 note - who will feature?

The Bank of England (BoE)has announced that the new £50 note , due out we suspect in 2022/23, is to feature a scientist and they have asked us to choose. In a poll on the BoE website they are asking the general public who from the world of science should be honoured on England's highest deniomination.

Our vote goes to Mary Anning, paleontologist, her work on fossils down here in the west country, most notably (excuse the pun) on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, was, quite literally, ground breaking and helped us understand the prehistoric world as never before - and think of the design - it could have dinosaurs on it!!
