Banknote error?
Posted on Thurs, 22 July 2010 by Phil MussellPosted in: Banknote News, General News
According to news reports security printers De La Rue, who print banknotes for over 150 countries (including England), have suspended production amidst fears that sub-standard paper has been used. The company has so far refused to confirm whether or not notes using the paper, which "failed to meet certain quality specifications" have entered circulation.
As well as banknotes the printer supplies security documents such as passports however it is understood that the issue of the paper is not one that affects the security aspect.
